Tick tock. Tick tock.
As we mentioned yesterday, Katie Couric is pretty much set to leave the anchor desk at CBS by the end of the presidential election cycle.
However, in Friday’s New York Times it was revealed that close associates of Couric say she could be leaving within the next two weeks!
That you hear is the sound of the door hitting her on the ass. Hard.
Senior level execs at CBS, of course, denied that claim. We’ll just have to sit back and see how all this drama is going to play out, but the NYT is pretty damn reliable!
Oh, and the speculation that Couric will take over for Larry King on CNN in ‘09? Well, that was disputed in the Times article by a CNN spokeswoman. They will probably extend the old guy’s contract!
Good to see that ageism isn’t a problem at CNN!
